Upper Lake Killarney
Yesterday evening all was very still in Killarney this was taken between Mucross gardens and Molls gap, its where the boatmen tie up their rowning boats so makes for some good opportunites for photos.

Great Saltee island off the coast of Wexford houses several bird coloneys. The boat is from Kilmore Quay every morning and you are transferred from the boat to a rib to land you on the island for 4 hours to see the birds. unfortunatley the puffins had left for the summer months but there were 2 large coloneys of gannets and many other sea birds and seals to see. Great day out but no facilities on the island so it is a case of bring your own.

The gannets were flying so low there were great shots to be had this one was scanning the sea for dinner then they gathered their wings and dive bombed into the sea

This is Gannet coloney number 2 on Saltee Island, tremendous noise and the smell….indiscribable!
